The World’s 50 Best Restaurants for 2025

The annual ranking of the world’s top dining destinations has been announced, based on votes from The World’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy, which brings together 1,080 international culinary experts, including food critics, chefs, and industry professionals from 27 global regions.

Lima, Peru crowned the ultimate gastronomic hotspot

Peru’s capital has become the epicenter of fine dining this year, with two of its restaurants placing in the coveted top ten. Leading the list is Maido, helmed by chef Mitsuharu “Micha” Tsumura, which climbed from fifth place last year to secure the No. 1 spot.

Specializing in Nikkei cuisine, Maido blends “precise Japanese techniques with vibrant Peruvian ingredients to deliver a gastronomic experience that is both culturally rich and innovatively modern,” according to the 50 Best organization.
