The Anglisides Community Council and Cultural Association will host a stargazing event on 12 August at 8:30pm to observe the Perseid meteor shower at the Olive Museum.
Each year, meteor showers pass through Earth’s atmosphere, allowing observers to see shooting stars in large numbers several times annually. August brings the most spectacular shower of the year, the Perseids, with nearly 100 meteors expected per hour, making it the most intense shower of the year.
The community event invites residents to experience the celestial display under the starry sky. Organisers recommend bringing mats or folding chairs for comfortable viewing, with music accompanying the evening.
Attendees may bring their own beverages, whilst complimentary beer will be provided.
