Danish court fines Alfa Laval for sanctions breach

A Danish subsidiary of Swedish engineering company Alfa Laval has been fined DKK 100,000 (GBP 12,000) for selling centrifuge parts worth DKK 500,000 to a sister company in Russia in breach of EU sanctions on Russia. This is Denmark’s first sanctions-related fine following EU sanctions on Russia after its invasion of Ukraine. The Danish subsidiary pleaded guilty at the Kolding District Court and said the breach was due to human error. Alfa Laval told Danish media it has taken steps to ensure similar breaches do not happen again.
