Invest Cyprus, the official national investment promotion agency, joined the President of the Republic on a recent mission to the U.S. aimed at attracting foreign investment. During the trip, high-level meetings were held with major U.S. companies and financial institutions.
Board Chairman Evgenios Evgeniou and CEO Marios Tannousis represented Invest Cyprus. In New York, they hosted a closed roundtable with senior executives from top investment banks, private equity firms, fintech companies, and strategic investors. President Christodoulides presented Cyprus as one of the fastest-growing economies in the EU, with a strong fiscal outlook and a strategic location connecting Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
In San Francisco, another roundtable was held with interest from Silicon Valley executives in innovation, expansion, and EU-based collaboration. Meetings took place with companies such as Tenstorrent, Plug and Play, Nvidia, Oracle, Google, and Amazon, highlighting Cyprus’ role as a regional tech and innovation hub.
Cyprus’ growing ICT sector now contributes 14% to GDP, and the country is ranked as a “Strong Innovator” in Southern Europe. The President also met with members of the Cypriot diaspora working in tech and research, recognizing their value as global ambassadors.
As Cyprus prepares to assume the EU Council Presidency in 2026, Invest Cyprus emphasized the mission’s importance in advancing the country’s economic diplomacy and reaffirmed its commitment to driving sustainable development and attracting strategic international investment.
