On March 6, 2025, the European Central Bank’s Governing Council decided to lower the three key interest rates by 25 basis points, according to the ECB. The interest rates on the deposit facility, main refinancing operations, and marginal lending facility were decreased to 2.50%, 2.65%, and 2.90%, respectively, with effect from March 12, 2025. The ECB also confirmed the continued reduction of the Eurosystem’s holdings of securities under the PEPP, according to a press release.
