The new SafeCY app is now available, helping users locate the nearest shelter instantly.

The app can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store.

Starting today, citizens can use the “SafeCY” mobile app to identify, at any time and in real-time, the closest shelter to their location. The application is compatible with both Android and iOS devices and is available in Greek and English.

In addition to automatic detection based on current location, users can also search for shelters by entering an address, postal code, or other details. The app also includes guidelines and useful information to better inform citizens.

According to statements made last October to the Cyprus News Agency by Civil Defense spokesperson Panayiotis Liasides, there are currently 2,200 Civil Defense shelters across Cyprus, ready to accommodate up to 30% of the country’s population if needed.
