A specific individual is wanted in connection with a threat made against the President of the Republic, according to a statement posted by the Police on social media.

“From the moment the President received the threatening message, a coordinated investigation into the matter began, which led to evidence being obtained against a particular person,” the statement reads.

It further adds that “today, we approached the Court and obtained an arrest warrant for this individual, who is now being sought by the authorities.”
The offenses under investigation include: Threatening Behavior, Conspiracy to Commit a Misdemeanor, and Interference with Judicial Proceedings, the statement notes.

The police post concludes by stating that the investigation is ongoing.
